Oceania and Pacific: preparing links between islands

The choice of islands and bases precedes that of accommodation. A long international flight alone does not explain the time it takes to reach an island and then leave on the right date.

Three ways to build the stay

A Main Base

Compare the number of days actually available after arrival. A single basis allows for limiting housing changes and for more time to be spent on local activities. Check transfers from the exact terminal.

A stay between islands

Indicate each island, each link and overnight stay on the estimate. Compare baggage, transport to docks and aerodromes, frequency and delay. Provide a margin before an international departure when the benefits are independent.

A road route

In destinations where the project is suitable, the vehicle compares with driving time and places of return. Ask for restrictions on route, equipment and parking conditions. Alternate travel and days around a base.

The point not to be deducted from the card

Check the calendar day of each arrival and departure as it appears on the ticket, then the associated nights. For marine activity, specify operator, equipment, physical limits and reporting conditions; a lagoon photo does not describe these conditions.

Preparation question

Is an excursion to another island only cost transportation?

No. Add transfers, activity, meals, possible nights and margin before return. Calculate the time required on site as well.
